I’m standing on a corner, cardboard sign on a string
The words on the board say “I will do anything”,
Car window rolls down, a couple of ones go into my cup,
I say God bless and you say, ‘Don’t smoke it up’.

I wasn’t always like this, I had trust, honor and pride
I stood tall, lean and tough, but I had a peaceful side
I played football in high school, took an oath to protect
